Today’s Tip: Battle Fleas With Corn Oil

My cat was helping me pack and move. Or she was looking for the plastic Christmas tree. It's like crack for cats.

Yet another way to combat those stupid fleas driving your kitty or dog crazy is corn oil. We have previously written that corn oil works well when battling your animal’s ear mites, but the stuff works just as well for fleas. Like with mites, the oil smothers the fleas and soothes existing bites.

I helped bathe a friend’s cat who had fleas with corn oil and it helped tremendously. She was still a little greasy even after a soapy bath, but she simply licked the remaining corn oil off. Any leftover corn oil won’t hurt your pet; if anything it will just continue to soothe the bites. Just make sure she doesn’t get on the good sofa.
