Today’s Tip: Rubbing Alcohol Kills Fleas!
Submitted by anaturalday on Monday, 31 August 20092 Comments
Warm weather can mean fleas, ticks and other unpleasantness on your pets. We’ve already discussed lemon as a natural flea repellent, but rubbing alcohol also works. Soak a cotton ball in said alcohol and apply it directly on Miss Kitty’s fleas. Few things will kill the little buggers, but rubbing alcohol sure will!
“Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother.” –Kahlil Gibran

How safe is it, after rubbing the alcohol on the dog, if the dog licks his paws.
Can it get sick from the alcohol?
Thanks.
Hello Sophie!
Years ago I had a cat who had fleas and I used the rubbing alcohol trick. She never got sick from it! If your dog ingests a little she should be okay so long as she isn’t drinking the bottle.
Also try massaging your pet with corn oil where fleas appear. I did this the other day with my friend’s cat and she’s fine now! The corn oil smothers the fleas and heals the bites. Just give doggy or kitty a bath afterward!
